How do we deal with plaster and paint swelling indoors?

Problem: Bubbling plaster and paint indoors.

Cause: Moisture ingress from faulty waterproofing.

Solution

If the roof is waterproofed, then we need to find where the moisture has penetrated. In this case, we intervene and repair locally. If the sealing has been done with acrylic elastomeric sealant and it is detached in some places without being visible, we use for re-sealing the acrylic elastomeric sealant No. 39 with 5 years guarantee, the TECHNOPROOF elastomeric sealant with 5 years guarantee or the elastomeric sealant DS-220 with 8 years guarantee. An excellent choice is also the polyurethane roof sealant HYDROSTOP-PU.

In any case, we follow the procedure described in the technical text of the product. After identifying the cause of the problem and following the proposed solution, we need to restore the swelling of the plaster and paint.

In case the moisture has affected only the paint, rub the affected areas with No60 paper towel, remove the powders and when the surface is dry, prime with AQUAFIX micro-molecular stabilizer. Finally, we paint with ecological plastic paint SUPER ECO or with acrylic paint 10 YEARS WARRANTY.

If the plaster has swollen, the loose parts should be removed mechanically (with a spatula or a spatula). Then, remove powders and moisten with acrylic emulsion D-20 diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3. Before it dries, apply the D-40 base layer plaster as a ‘throwing’ and after 24 hours, complete the repair using the D-32 rapid repair plaster.

Alternatively, apply the one-layer water-repellent plaster D-42 ONE COAT or the flexible, polymeric, fibre-reinforced mortar MEGAFIX. If the weathering of the plaster has progressed to a depth and oxidation of the reinforcement occurs, it should be thoroughly cleaned with RUST REMOVER or wire brush and primed with RUST FREE POWDER. The application of the plaster follows.
